EkoRent was founded in Helsinki in March 2014. EkoRent was the first company in Finland to offer hourly-based rental of fully electric vehicles for companies and private customers. Since December 2014, we have been collecting related Electric Vehicle traffic and charging data. We are the pioneers of Electric Mobility Services. EkoRent Africa Ltd., founded in December 2017, opened an all-electric taxi service NopeaRide pilot in Nairobi in August 2018. After receiving positive experiences in Nairobi and the market potential in Africa being huge, we decided to shift our focus and concentrate on solving the traffic problems in rapidly developing African cities. Today our NopeaRide service is the biggest 100% Electric taxi hailing fleet in Kenya and Africa. Our goal is to provide clean mobility services in large scale to more Nairobians, and then replicate the NopeaRide service in other rapidly growing cities in Africa that struggle with traffic congestion and air pollution problems. EkoRent Oy perustettiin Helsingissä maaliskuussa 2014. EkoRent oli ensimmäinen suomalainen yritys joka tarjosi täyssähköautojen tuntipohjaista vuokrausta yrityksille ja yksityishenkilöille. Joulukuusta 2014 alkaen olemme keränneet liikkumis- ja latausdataa sähköautoistamme. Olemme puhtaan liikkumisen edelläkäviöitä. Vuonna 2017 perustettu EkoRent Africa Ltd., avasi täyssähköautoilla toimivan taksipalvelun NopeaRiden Nairobissa elokuussa 2018. Nairobin pilotista saatujen positiivisten kokemusten ja Afrikan valtavan markkinapotentiaalin vuoksi, päätimme kesällä 2019 siirtää toimintamme painopisteen Suomen ulkopuolelle ja keskittyä ratkomaan nopeasti kasvavien Afrikan suurkaupunkien liikenneongelmia. Tavoitteemme on tarjota puhdasta liikkumista yhä useammalle nairobilaiselle ja monistaa NopeaRide-palvelu muihin nopeasti kasvaviin kaupunkeihin jotka kärsivät liikenneruuhkista ja ilmansaasteista.
